NEW YORK CITY — December 8, 2025 — The entertainment world has been shaken by the sudden death of Wenne Alton Davis, an American actor who appeared in the hit Amazon series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and a range of other television roles. Davis, 60, was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing a Midtown Manhattan street on Monday night, police and family sources confirmed. Davis — whose legal name was Wendy Davis — was born on October 18, 1965, in Durham, North Carolina, and later moved to New York City to pursue a career in entertainment. In addition to acting, Davis also worked as a Customs and Border Protection officer at JFK Airport, a role they held alongside their artistic pursuits.
While many fans recognize Davis from a 2023 appearance on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel — where they portrayed a police officer — their career extended across decades, with credits in popular television series such as Blindspot, New Amsterdam, Girls5eva, Rescue Me, American Odyssey, The Normal Heart and the film Shame.
