In recent interviews, his wife, Emma Heming Willis, shared that their family is “doing the best we can” and remains focused on surrounding him with love, support, and dignity every day.
Emma recently explained that Bruce is still very much present with his loved ones, even though the disease has changed the way he communicates and interacts. She described the family’s journey as difficult but emphasized that their bond remains strong despite the challenges they face.
One of the most heartbreaking revelations was that Bruce reportedly does not fully understand that he has dementia. Emma said this is due to a condition called anosognosia, which affects a person’s ability to recognize their own illness. She described this as both a blessing and a curse, saying she is grateful he is not burdened by the full awareness of his condition.
His daughter, Rumer Willis, recently offered a touching update as well. She said her father is “OK in the context of what his reality is” and noted that she has seen a softer, more tender side of him emerge during this stage of his life.
