Billionaire to give away $6.25 billion to 25 million kids

Michael and Susan Dell have announced one of the largest philanthropic efforts in U.S. history, pledging to deposit $250 into the accounts of 25 million children across the country.
The initiative is designed to support low-income families and give young Americans a financial foundation as they grow.See moreโ€ฆ

This donation will expand the number of children who receive seed funding for future investments through a federal program known as โ€œTrump Accounts,โ€ first introduced earlier this year. Under the federal plan, babies born between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2028 will receive $1,000 from the government at birth

The Dell familyโ€™s contribution adds an additional layer of support, extending benefits to children up to ten years old. However, eligibility will be limited to households living in ZIP codes where the median income is below $150,000, in order to target areas with the greatest financial need

With a total value of $6.25 billion, the donation ranks as one of the largest private contributions ever made to American families. The initiative aims to help children begin life with a small financial safety net, potentially encouraging early saving, investing, and long-term economic stability

Supporters say the donation could reshape how future generations approach money and opportunities, especially in communities that have historically struggled with economic inequality
