Courtney Liniewski, a busy working mom, first noticed something was wrong during a vacation to Mexico with her husband in February 2022. On the first night of the trip, her neck appeared unusually swollen. She assumed the discomfort was caused by long hours at her desk and dismissed it as nothing more than muscle tension.
But the swelling didn’t go away. In fact, it gradually worsened. After returning home, Courtney finally decided to see a doctor — expecting to receive advice about posture or stress. Instead, medical tests revealed something far more serious.
Doctors informed her that the swelling was linked to stage three cancer, a diagnosis that left her shocked and devastated. Courtney said she never expected a simple, everyday ache to be connected to a life-threatening illness.
The young mom immediately began treatment while sharing her journey publicly to raise awareness. She hopes her story encourages others to pay attention to subtle changes in their bodies, even when the symptoms seem harmless or easy to ignore.
Despite the difficult diagnosis, Courtney remains determined to stay strong for her family and to remind others that early evaluation can save lives.
